Synopsis

For our classic feature this year we are presenting the Korean karate film ‘Fighter In The Wind’. Considered to be one of Korea’s finest martial arts films, this film is based on the real-life story of Choi Bae-Dal, a Korean who moved to Japan and became a Karate pioneer, founding the Kyokushin style, which is now considered to be the first and most influential style of full contact karate.

A young Korean man arrives in Japan near the end of World War II with hopes of being a fighter pilot, but ends up on the streets battling racism, organized crime, occupying American servicemen, and his own fear of failure as a martial artist. (Korean with English subtitles)
